Throughout March and April 2010 Royal Mail is offering a 20% discount on any extra mailing of Mailsort 3 or Sustainable Mail 3 letter format items. The offer applies to any new volume sent over and above mail that would normally be sent in this period.
The initiative is designed to encourage use of direct mail as either a stand alone activity or as part of an integrated campaign. Recent research carried out by OMG on behalf of Royal Mail demonstarted direct mail's ability to improve the performance of other marketing activity, with digital campaigns seeing a 62% increase in payback when combined with direct mail. The study also showed that direct mail was the only advertising channel to show an increase in response rates in the first half of 2009.
