New Fees Mean End of Paper Dockets?

20 May 2009

New fees charged by Royal Mail from Monday 1st June 2009 will discourage customers from using paper posting cheques. First, the minimum order value for sales placed on paper posting cheques will incease from £5.00 to £20.00. In addition there will be a £1.00 handling fee placed on each posting cheque regardless of the order value.

Orders placed via Online Business Account are not affected. The minimum order value for sales placed online remains at £5.00 and there will be no handling fee.

PS Director Paul Jacobs added, "One great advantage of completing dockets online is that it gives greater transparency to the system. Clients can see when mail is posted and how much it costs."

Paul explained that postage for items sent by PS can still be charged to a client account using OBA after the client allows access.

PS Mailing Services can help set up an online account or there is guidance available from Royal Mail at www.royalmail.com/oba or by calling 08457 950950 (option 2 and option 2 again).
